- I have never been to a campsite with such rude and cantankerous staff. Myself and some friends visited here recently and we were thrown off the site for having a mere chat on a friday evening after we arrived back from the local pub. It completely ruined our weekend as my girlfriend had a 2 hour journey up on the train to meet me. I will not return to this campsite that seems to be reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

- The ground was appauling due to the rain which flooded the poorly kept tracks in the site. The wash facilities were poor; 50p for about 3 minutes of tepid water! The proprietor was friendly but his partner was less ameniable. We were kept awake until 0300hrs on 2 nights by a group of drunken males waking children with uncouth behaviour, and shining torches into tents. We cut our stay short! I was disappointed; perhaps this site is better suited to groups as oppose to families.

- Very noisy and overcrowded site, do not visit if you intend on getting any sleep whatsoever. At 2am there was still partys blaring out dance music. Complained to the unhelpful staff, told to deal with it. This could be a great site due to its location, if only it were run properly.

- Very basic - but that's what camping is all about. Adequate shower, toilet and laundry facilities - but the location is second to none. 30 seconds from the lake shore, and a pleasant walk to the village... I have been many times and absolutely adore the place.

- Whilst walking the Cumbrian Way during the heat wave of July 2006 our group which was a mix of adults and children were delighted to be met by friendly staff as we booked on. the camp site was bustling with families enjoying themselves. The showers were wonderful. The camp site is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lakes and we will be back.

- Me and 9 friends showed up at this site on Saturday morning and were greeted by a nice lady who offered us a group site. The site we were given had a view of the lake and a creek running alongside it. The toilet block was cleaned twice a day and garbage picked up nightly. However the regular campsite seemed to be very crowded, like the other people commented on. This campsite seemed better suited for groups rather than individual tent customers.
